Film Analysis: Frozen

Begin of the film, Parker O’Neil, Dan Walker and Joe Lynch does not have enough money for the chairlift. They want to go to Mount Holliston for skiing during their weekends. Dan convinces his girl friend’s (Parker) get special offer from Jason (Lift worker) to let them all in the lift. The storm is moving, so the ski resort has to close early. Dan reminds Jason let them take the chairlift for the last time. When they are on their way to their destination, Jason was called to the boss office and it replace by another worker. Before Jason leave he did remind his friend there are 3 skiers left. When he saw 3 people get down from the chairlift, he mistaken this 3 skiers was the 3 mention by Jason. Then he shut down the chairlift immediately.

When the lift stop suddenly, they thought there was another technical problem. But after a few minute, the light was switch off. This was really scaring them. The night has come with the snow storms. They worry that they could be stuck in the chairlift for the coming day. Dan tries to jump down from the chairlift to get help. Unfortunately, he broke his leg and suffers for it. And approached by a wolf, Parker and Joe worry about Dan but they could not do anything. Dan surround by a group of wolf, they attack him and eat him.
In the next morning, Parker found that her hand was stick on the chairlift safety holder when she falls asleep. The camera focuses on her hand, show she forces to pull out her hand from the safety holder. When Joe awake, he try to climbs down from the chairlift. His hand was hurt in the process he to survive.

Adam Green was the director of this movie. He uses mise-en-scene, camera movement and camera angle film techniques to grab the audience attention. Audience takes time to wait the exciting part of the movie. All the bloody shoot audience can see clear and had been focus. But there are still a few boring part when Parker and Joe argue on the chairlift. It was a nice movie for Malaysian who never been in the winter. It really shows the people suffer from the cold temperature. Not as fun as we imagine.
